Service Description: The Pathways Family Resource Worker for FASD:
  • connects families impacted by FASD to services and community resources to support the inclusion and stability of children and youth in family, school and community life. This includes working across multiple sectors including health, education, youth justice, community and social services.
  • provides direct support to children and youth with FASD and their families, including consultation and system navigation.
  • provides training and education to parents, caregivers and service providers about behavioural symptoms associated with FASD and strategies for support.
  • provides public access to FASD-related resources, education and training opportunities through the Pathways FASD Resource Hub on Facebook 

The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Family Resource Worker Can Provide:
  • Information, develop service plans and help families access services and support networks.
  • Consultative sessions for caregivers and families with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or suspected Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder to access: education, resources, referrals and caregiver support groups
  • Assistance at case conferences with service providers who support children and youth impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in our community
  • Support in the planning and development of individualized service plans with a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder informed lens
  • provides public access to FASD-related resources, education and training opportunities through the Pathways FASD Resource Hub on Facebook and Pathways Health Centre for Children website

Fees: There is no cost of most of our services
Application: Referrals by families and also accepted from medical professionals.Varies depending upon staffing level and referral trends
Eligibility / Target Population: Varies by program * Lambton County children and youth and their families * adults for some specialized services
